Celebrating 50 Years of Creativity and Craftsmanship
Back in 60's, a Polish couple approached Terence Conran at Habitat with a collection of traditional Polish enamelware.
Soon, the brightly coloured enamelled pots, pans and kitchenware were an absolute hit and so Janusz Lubkowski and his wife Ewa decided to explore other traditional Polish materials to expand their growing collection of homeware and serveware under the name LSA International.

The materials with which LSA co-founder Janusz usually worked with were natural wood, leather, porcelain and mouth-blown glass.
After working with each material individually, he promptly realised that mouth-blown glass offered great potential. And so, he expanded the collection offered by LSA by experimenting with shapes and colours to suit their ever growing audience.
Today, Janusz’s daughter and Creative Director,Monika Lubkowska-Jonas continues to shape and redefine LSA International‘s identity.
Having joined the company back in 1985, she worked closely with her father to gain a deep understanding of the skills and craft behind the designs and developed her own unique sense of style and quality.
This understanding of the materials gave her the opportunity to push the limits of design and so a platform to demonstrate how complex and unique glassmaking is. This together with her love for functionality, gave way to a collection of simple yet functional pieces to compliment the way people live.
Today, Monika keeps refining LSA’s designs by keeping her father’s passion for contemporary and traditional design and craft alive. The LSA International 50 Anniversary collection showcases the original five materials – glass, porcelain, leather, wood and enamelled steel.
Nearly all the LSA International glassware is individually mouth-blown and hand-finished by skilled and talented Polish artisans with techniques that have been used for 2000 years. These techniques have been refined over the years and perfected by several generations.
With the exception of the Mia range which is made of recycled glass, all LSA glassware is made from soda-lime glass which unlike crystal, is lead-free.
One of the things we love the most about LSA glassware is its uniqueness, which means you won’t find anything like it anywhere else. The thickness or thinness of the glass and the shapes and weight of each piece makes identifying LSA glassware extremely easy.
